The New Favorite Game

This is Elise's new favorite game. We don't have a dishwasher that will dry the dishes so we have to open it and let them air dry. Elise has figured out how to open the dishwasher all the way, and stand up on the door, and reach into the lower basket and pull clean dishes out and chew on them. The things I never realized that I would have to watch out for. Now I pull out the knives and hand dry them and put them away. She has so much fun that I don't mind washing some things over and over again.

We also saw the doctor for her 9 month check up. She is getting skinny but staying tall. She's 90th percentile in length and getting down to 70th in weight. I feel like she's been teething forever and in fact I did find a fifth tooth this afternoon. But the only way I can really tell is because she doesn't finish all her bottles and seems to always be tired and grumpy. Count my many blessings.

Good Moments

There have been some bright spots amongst the cranky this past week. We got to visit cold stone creamery and sit outside and enjoy the fountain. Elise loves water in all shapes and forms and she was very content once she got a hold of my spoon. Good thing we got a waffle bowl so I could eat with pieces of that. Also, she's learned to pull herself up on just about anything. I went to go get her from her nap and there she was, standing and crying. Lucky for me she's pretty much all smiles as soon as I pick her up.
Today I caught this cute pic while we were playing with her toys. She has this habit of seeing something she wants really bad and going for it with her mouth wide open. She wanted the camera in these shots thus the mouth wide open smiles.

Last Weekend

Ryan's parents and sister got to come visit. I learned that I need to really work on getting a bigger place because there are so many people that I want to be able to come visit! and I like all the interaction that happens while you wait for people to get ready because only so many can at a time, during meals, and when you keep people up at night to talk. Tons of fun!

Anyway, we got to go swimming, to fireworks, the beach and the ward picnic. And Elise got all the loving she could ever want. Oh how she misses Grandpa's bear attacks.

First Beach Experience

And she liked it well enough...

The first thing on her agenda was to eat the sand

Then she sat on the blanket and played with toys and tried to crawl to the sand when mom and dad weren't watching close enough
Then she had mom or dad carry her around

We tried touching her toes in the water, she wasn't a fan. Too cold.

But she she did love the waves coming in! She loved watching the water.

Happy Fourth

We had fun waiting for fireworks at the biggest park in our city.
Grandma bought Elise a glow necklace. She had so much fun.
Family picture time! She really liked the necklace! This is her cute face as she watched fireworks, she got bored fast and thought playing with the stroller was more fun and she was occasionally distracted by fireworks. Then the finally came on and she lost it a little bit and had to be snuggled. Oh darn! (hee hee hee)
Super sleepy girl in her carseat when we got home. Yeah the necklace was a definite hit.
